I can confirm that this occurs on Windows7 64bit standalone install. When I changed to windows-1252 the log appears to be fully reloading in the viewer on each subsequent page request (from the top down). My coldfusion-out log is very large. This was causing eclipse to hang so I stopped tailing the logs in eclipse altogether in favor of a third party application.

I tried to replicate the same (on standalone) with UTF-8 encoding for coldfusion-out.log but did not get any error. can you please share your log file with us if possible . it will help us in replicating this. (Comment added from ex-user id:amkum)

I attached my log as well as screenshots of the log viewer window and the preferences screen. I don't know if it could be the cause but I also have hibernate outputting to the coldfusion-out.log.

As per Ram and KP, this is a third party limitation and nothing much can be done. Hence.closing it. (Comment added from ex-user id:amkum)
