I think the blog reskin design says it all for this one. ColdFusion needs options for a CMS. Adobe probably looked at Mango Blog and Mura because they were looking for a ColdFusion solution for their blog and I agree with that logic. Mura is pushing open source CFML like Ralio, so Adobe settled on the one true to CF, Mango Blog because they had no where else to turn.
So the new re-skinned blog is still miles from business professional and its not mobile friendly. I looked at the mango site to see if anyone skinned it better to field the possibility maybe they aren't using it right, and the graphical use cases do not resolve. Looks like a dying product to me.
In the business world marketing websites run on reliable and modern CMSs and if Adobe was not able to find a solution it was happy with, then how can you expect your entire user base to get along with what is out there? If you were happy with it then you are out of touch with business professional and modern 2016 websites.
Whatever the case the problem still remains. Where are the professional options? If Adobe doesn't want to use Mura* (which isn't perfect either, but its the best cfml solution available), then it needs to take the initiative to give us something better. Server-side programming is about far more than just the language, its about the solutions. When people think CMS for PHP they think Drupal and Wordpress. When they think .Net they think Kentico & SiteFinity. Java companies think CQ/AEM. These are all highly successful platforms and many are not open-source. What do people think when they think ColdFusion CMS?
Whether you think its in your realm of responsibilities or not, it certainly is affecting your ability to sell licenses and that alone should be plenty of motivation.
* I say its not perfect because I tried to use it on a high DPI device and the admin interface was unusable, with screens rapidly changing sizes making it impossible to make changes. After seeing that I never fully vetted the product.
