Versions: 10.0

Failure Type: Incorrect w/Workaround

Found In Build/Fixed In Build: Final / CF10_Update14

Vote Count: 1

Problem Description:
When deploying ColdFusion 10 any URL in a ColdFusion site with a URL of /manager will return the following error.

HTTP Status 404 - /manager/index.cfm

type Status report

message /manager/index.cfm

description The requested resource (/manager/index.cfm) is not available.

Apache Tomcat/7.0.23

Steps to Reproduce:
Under any CF site add a manager folder at root and an index.cfm file then try to browse to (ie:http://localhost/manager)

Actual Result:
The Tomcat error above

Expected Result:
A simple cfdump which I placed in the file

Any Workarounds:
Rename your folder to something else (not best if it is an app which requires to be named manager), go into the runtime folder under your instance in COldFusion and rename the manager folder. This is what I did on my production server due to many old apps which used /manager as the app administrative portals.

verified with CF10 u11 (build 285437) on Win 7 x64. Trying to browse to dir "manager" in CF's internal webroot, shows the contents of the manager dir in the runtime dir.

No, this fix has not been incorporated in Update 13. It is an OS X only update which certifies CF for their latest OS, Mavericks (10.9). The fix for this bug will go out in the next version of CF.

It's a curious situation. After 9 months of signal of bug and 7 from fixig, i can't install cf10 on my server because the fix is not release yet. Meanwhile cf11 just released: I can throw in the trash my cf10 (and relative expense). Thanks Adobe

@robylab we understand your concern and we apologize for the inconvenience. The fix would be there in the next ColdFusion 10 update but I can't commit on the date. However, if you need the fix sooner, please reach out to the ColdFusion support (CFSup@adobe.com) and they would be able to provide you the fix.
