Problem Description: When the "CHECK FOR COLDFUSION UPDATES" (CFIDE/administrator/updates/task/checkupdates.cfm) Scheduled Task runs and finds updates and you have Notifications enabled it crafts the email using a FROM address that is "ColdFusion" which is a malformed email address. Many email servers prevent the transmission of emails that do not have correctly formatted FROM addresses. This results in the notifications being put into the Undelivr and never being sent because the email server kills the inbound connection every time.

Steps to Reproduce: Have an email server or gateway that rejects email connections when the FROM address is a malformed email such as just the word ColdFusion

Actual Result: The email server closes the SMTP connection prior to the email being transmitted

Expected Result: The email is transmitted to the SMTP server

Any Workarounds: Edit the Undelivr spooled emails to change the word ColdFusion to a well formed email address

Comments:

I would suggest adding the ability to specify the domain name to of the email address (like mycompany.com) so that the email notification will originate from Coldfusion@mycompany.com, or the like.
