Currently, if you are indexing against a query, if you want to boost the field, you have to hardcode the boost value. I have db columns that contain boost values but docBoost doesn't work if pointed at db column name.

Have query that resolves to active files on webserver. Would like to boost based on values in db column but cannot.

The docboost attribute can be pointed to a variable. You can write you own logic to set the value of that variable from a DB column or some other source. I don't see how this ER would add any value to the feature. closing this. But if you have a counter argument please feel free to revert.
