CFMAIL failing and not returning error

Priority/Frequency: Trivial / Not Reproducible

Duplicate ID:	CF-3312296

Problem Description:
Same problem as is described here: http://www.shopgather.com/mw/index_mw.cfm?pg=contact%20us
Steps to Reproduce:
I am unable to reliably reproduce this problem, it seems random. ALl failed emails though have been through scheduler and not through mailWorker

I searched this bug database for the bug IDs mentioned in the forum thread mentioned above but those searches came back empty.
Actual Result:
Flash version of page there is no return, neither pass nor fail, users report endless waiting: (http://www.shopgather.com/?page_request=contact%20us)
Non-flash version the site behaves as if the email succeeded ( this is based on user report, I cannot reproduce this behavior).
In both cases the email is lost, untraceable in the mail server log files (SmarterMail)
In both cases email is traceable in ColdFusion log files and show as having been sent on to the mail server (which resides on the same machine)
Expected Result:
Flash version: email would send successfully and a return would indicate success and an actual email would be sent
Non-flash version: page would reload and indicate a success and an actual email would be sent
Any Workarounds:
create a "mailto:" link instead? Not very graceful.

Ya, I know - I included my serial number by mistake, copied and pasted configuration from CF admin. I cannot figure out how to remove it. I am a bit fatigued from trying to resolve this issue.

We are experiencing this exact problem and do not have a solution. This puts us at risk, as we need to find another service to perform these mail operations without having a solution to the CFMAIL issue.

Same problem, CF log says email has been sent while smtp does not receive anything. We have this problem with CF8.01 on WindowsServer2008 and JDK 1.6.0_24 This is a huge problem because there is no way to trace it: just customers upset because they do not receive emails!!! I underline that we recently upgraded the server moved from CF8.01 on Windows Server 2003 32bit/SQL2005 with jdk1.6.0_11 (working ok) to CF8.01 on Windows Server 2008 64 bit/SQL2008 with jdk1.6.0_24 (not working)

We have the exact same issue. When cfmail utilizes the "scheduler" to send email the mailsent.log records mail sent successfully, however any messages that have the same time stamp in this log never reach the sending mail server. Is this fixed in CF10. Should we upgrade to fix this issue?

Same issue here. The ColdFusion mail log shows messages as being sent, but the mail server has no trace of them. This only happens sporadically.
