Someone else posted this image:http://www.codersrevolution.com/images//browse_server_broken.JPGand although this is a different issue, the image brings the point.http://www.codersrevolution.com/index.cfm/2009/3/19/ColdFusion-Administrator-Why-Cant-I-Browse-The-ServerIf I can log into the admin, why can't i browse the server to set file paths. This needs to be fixe.d.
Method:
CFAdmin > Mappings > then click on browse button.
Result:
Could the java-based file tree explorer in the CF administrator be replaced by an extjs (javascript) tree as then when no plugins are installed in a browser then you could still use this functionality without relying on plugins. At the present when java is broken or is not installed then you can not use this file tree explorer. This causes you to manually remote into the server and copy and paste file locations from the file explrer. Somethimes this is not possible as you are remotely located and using the web admin. A flash tree would have the same problem as it requires the flash plugin which is not usually installed on our servers.
