Problem:
I would really like to see a built-in way to parse (and convert back to) markdown syntax: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/ and/or wiki syntax: http://www.wikicreole.org/wiki/Creole1.0
This would allow us to build applications that would allow the users to enter data in a much more human-readable and easier to write/read format than html, but allow us to convert from these formats into html (and back again would be great, but not necessary) when needed. This would be a huge improvement for CMS, Blog, Forum, Wiki and other similar types of applications.
