Problem:
Can we have an API to allow us to programmatically interrogate CFR files?
It would allow automated prompts to be generated when viewing reports with parameters. It would be great if this proposed API allowed us to interrogate all properties on the contents of the report template, but specifically I’d like to see the ability to interrogate the Report properties, Query fields, Datasource name, the actual SQL query and most importantly, the input parameters (getting name, label, data-type and the design-time default value.
This ability would be particularly useful when allowing capable end-users to create their own reports with the Report Builder, but would remove much opportunity for errors when setting up configurations of the required parameter prompts, datasource etc to allow generated prompts for these user created CFR templates
