Namely: string manipulation like a substring or mid function.
Also, the ability to do outer joins.

QOQ is one of ColdFusion's distinguishing features...and yet it hasn't changed since introduction. Left outer join ability would be huge improvement to enable comparison of data sets from multiple sources.
