I ran into an issue with a client where they were securing their server and as they walked thru the steps turned on secure cookie but they continued to use http. This created lost sessions and time as the client was unaware what was happening.
The CFAdmin should catch the scenario when secure cookie is turned on and the admin is stiill using http and alert the user what that the admin will not function properly.
You might even look at offering a pop-up to turn it off as long as they enter a valid login.
