Problem: Error while restarting ColdFusion 11 service in a windows R2 (both 2008 and 2012) environment
Method: Go to services in windows and try to restart the ColdFusion 11 Application Service.
Result: The service will not restart and give generic windows error
Expected: The service should start as expected.
Workaround: Start ColdFusion from command prompt. After the pdfg service has started, it takes approximately 12 minutes to start up. And finally services starts up.
Additional Information: The service times out when tried from windows services panel. Whereas it shows the actual time taken, when started from command prompt. Some of the users discovered that following scenarios make the service start normally from windows services panel:-
a) Blocking 192.150.19.110 or coldfusion.adobe.com
b) Disconnecting internet connectivity before starting the service.
We have tested ColdFusion 11 with Windows Server 2008 R2 & 2012 R2. We are unable to reproduce the issue at our end. Enclosing logs provided by different user.
