Problem:
<cfcatch type="any"> does not catch solr <cfindex> error when document type is not acceped by solr
Method:
use cfindex inside a cftry/cfcatch tag to index a pdf file with uppercase .PDF as extension. .PDF is rejected by solr, however no error is thrown and routine will hang.
