Problem:
This is actually a very serious problem, and is a number of bugs that consist in an application breaking when trying to run it on ColdFusion 9 with the cfGrid tag.
The first problem is when our application tries to have either text, or images in the header and we use apostrophes. The cfGrid will break and not display. This was never an issue with ColdFusion 8.
The second related bug is with the new feature of extJS and the column header menus, we have a lot of grids that are 20 pixels wide. The fact that there is no way to actually turn these off with cfgrid attributes and/or other means again breaks our application.
The 3rd problem is with the actual look and feel of the grid, in ColdFusion 8 there are lines between the rows and cols however in ColdFusion 9 these are no longer there. There is an option in extJs to switch this back on but it is not avaioable to us to do this and makes the look and feel of the grid not the same as previous versions any more.
The 4th is a more serious problem, when returning date/time to be custom rendered ina grid. ColdFusion 9 decides before returning the data to the extJS grid that it will strip all times and make them dates. This is also a feature that was never in ColdFusion 8 and again is another hinderance to upgrade to ColdFusion 9.
I have asked for 2 of these issues to be fixed, and a hotfix to be released as soon as they were fixed. These issues were marked as verified and had been fixed as per emails I have received from Adobe. And yet we are still waiting to get our application running on ColdFusion 9.
