Bug 81286:Download of ColdFusion 9 trial from the Adobe

| View in Tracker

Status/Resolution/Reason: Closed/Withdrawn/

Reporter/Name(from Bugbase): Jorgen Smith / Jorgen Smed (Jorgen Smith)

Created: 12/22/2009

Components: Installation/Config, Config

Versions: 9.0

Failure Type: Unspecified

Found In Build/Fixed In Build: 0000 /

Priority/Frequency: Normal / Unknown

Locale/System: Japanese / Win All

Vote Count: 1

Problem:

Download of ColdFusion 9 trial from the Adobe.com website is signed with an Adobe certificate that according to the file's properties on my Win7 install [still on build 7100] expired on 11Dec2009. This caused Win7 to reject installation. A red UAC alert would come up with "This program has been blocked for your protection" in the header, with "Publisher: _Not trusted_" (in bold) underneath the file name.I re-downloaded the file on 21/12/2009 and found that the certificate had not hanged. The workaround for me was to run "certmgr.msc", then move Adobe from untrusted to trusted folder.I also found that this affected the Adobe Flash installer, which I downloaded again to check if that would install. I can't rule out something local but I thought I'd highlight it to you as it could cause problems in certain corporate settings.
Method:

1) Download CF9 trial from adobe.com2) Run installer on Win7 which sits on a domain server with certain security policy settings (sorry I can't tell you which), observe UAC message blocking execution.3) Click properties -> view certificate to verify that the cert expired on December 11, 2009.
