Problem:
I originally posted but 74969 about CFDUMP which is where the issue showed up. But in addition to that, CF seems to create a circular reference when doing two-way one-to-one relationships which is probably not what is intended. See the Forum posting below for info.
The attached files replicate the problem -- see the recursive calls in index.cfm to see the issue. If this is the expected behavior then it should be documented.
