Problem:
When you update your JDK per the usual instructions, have no other applications installed and have portable EAR files installed without all the Windows specific .dll files, JRun will refuse to start. This is caused by the absence of msvcr71.dll on any location on the path. Placing msvcr71.dll in the JRun4/bin folder solves the problem.
The Sun bugbase says:
"Windows Java SE 6 applications using custom launchers must be installed with msvcr71.dll in the same directory as the launcher executable."

Method:
1. Remove the existing EAR file in the cfusion instance.
2. Deploy a portable EAR to the cfusion instance.
3. Update to JDK 1.6u11.
4. Try to start.
Only happens on a system with a clean path, i.e. a system where no other application has installed msvcr71.dll on any location on the path.
