Problem Description:
Whether cyrillic is put directly into the RB file or pulled from the database, it will not display in the final PDF output. With all other options, flashpaper, RTF, HTML, it works fine. This has been the case I believe since CF 7MX. I keep thinking each version that it will be fixed, but I am on 11 Enterprise now and it still has the same behaviour.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a blank cfr file.
2. Add some text like:
??????? ?????? ??????? ????????? Pravda
to the page.
3. Choose PDF as the output of the file.
4. Run the CFR file.
You will see that instead of the Cyrillic text, you just get ????? instead.
If you switch the output to Flashpaper, RTF, or the other versions, the Cyrillic characters will display correctly.
I have tried embedding fonts, adding fonts, etc, but these characters are fine for everything but PDF and should be in the unicode fonts that are standard.
You will
Actual Result:
????????????
displayed where the text should be
Expected Result:
??????? ?????? ??????? ????????? Pravda
displayed where the text should be
Any Workarounds:
None that I can find other than to switch to something other than PDF. This isn't ideal as PDF allows more portability to individuals and better printing than something like flashpaper.
