ColdFusion Administrator Coexistence With Earlier Administrators Session Issue

| View in Tracker

Status/Resolution/Reason: Closed/Fixed/Fixed

Reporter/Name(from Bugbase): Travis Walters / Travis Walters (Travis Walters)

Created: 03/09/2016

Components: Administrator

Versions: 11.0

Failure Type: Unspecified

Found In Build/Fixed In Build: Beta1_v12 / 303850

Priority/Frequency: Normal / Unknown

Locale/System: English / Win All

Problem Description:

I already had ColdFusion 10 installed on my system and then when installing the latest version of ColdFusion, it stated that if I used the built-in web server that the latest version of ColdFusion could co-exist with what I already had - in this case ColdFusion 10.

http://localhost:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm - CF10
http://localhost:8501/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm - CF12

Let's say that I am logged in CF10 Administrator. If I even load the CF12 Administrator login page, it kicks me out of the CF10 Administrator. There is no co-existence in terms of the Administration.

Likewise, let's say that I am logged into the CF12 Administrator. If I even load the CF10 Administrator login page, then I am kicked out of the CF12 Administrator. Once again, there is no co-existence in terms of the Administration.

Again, this is a ColdFusion built-in web server issue.

Steps to Reproduce:

Login to a ColdFusion Administrator webpage one version of ColdFusion and then access another ColdFusion Administration webpage with a different version of CF.

Actual Result:

Kicked out of the Administrator.

Expected Result:

Stayed Logged Into the Administrator.

Any Workarounds:

I am not sure if there is a shared service or what is going on here. Perhaps the session/cookie information is being overwritten? Different ports are used though?

+1 - Whenever I need to compare CF Admin settings btwn 2 CF versions, I cannot have both CF Admins open in 2 tabs in same browser due to this issue. B/c I get logged out of both. It's annoying that I must open 2 separate browsers.
