Open one or more files in the Log Viewer and use the "Close All Files" icon. When you do, if you click to add a log file, it won't show the file chooser. You have to restart CFB to get the ability to add log files again.

It does show the 'open logfile' button even after closing all log files already opened. (Comment added from ex-user id:dsarkar)

I wouldn't report this if I wasn't able to reproduce it. Did you test w/ OSX?

Why would you close something without ANY communication with the reporting user first? Do you think we just purposely report issues we've made up to make you chase ghosts?? I can't imagine what MY paying clients would do if I took this kind of half-arsed approach to bug reports.

Hi Ray, I missed trying it on OSX yesterday, because the description looked very straightforward so tried it on laptop itself. My bad, should have kept in mind you are on an OSX always. Tried again today, could see the something similar to video, but it all looked alright just by dragging the pane a bit. And even on OSX, could not see any functionality issue as far as log opening and viewing is concerned. The description says it does not show the file chooser after closing log files opened, I did not see that happening. Am I missing some step here? (Comment added from ex-user id:dsarkar)

Dipanwita, there's still a fundamental flaw in your approach to your work if you're mitigating the situation by saying this " My bad, should have kept in mind you are on an OSX always.". No, you should not have to keep that in mind. The issue is that you just closed the issue when you couldn't replicate the issue. What you SHOULD have done is reverted to the client, asking them for more info. BEcause clearly the client *can* reproduce it, otherwise they'd not have taken the time to raise it in the first place. You should NEVER close an issue "cannot reproduce" until you get agreement from the client that that is the best you can do. It's rude and disrespectful to do so (and, yes, I know I'm a fine one to talk. "Do as I say, not as I do", or something ;-) And when YOU close a ticket, it should never be marked as "withdrawn". Only the person who initially raise the ticket can withdraw it. This ticket's status should currently be "needinfo". And it should be OPEN. Sorry to belabour the point here, but it really seems like no-one's shown you how to operate a bug tracking system or do deal with clients, so it's kinda over to us to "help" you.

Dipanwita, the step is this. Open files, close them with the Close All button, then click the Add. For me when I click the dialog to chose a new file does NOT open.

Ray, as I had mentioned earlier, I could see the log filename initial showing in the view on OSX (as shown in your video), but on dragging the view pane or on opening another log file, the names appear correctly. As for the issue about 'add log file' button not working or the dialog to choose a new log file not coming up, I am still not seeing that. I tried opening multiple log files, clicked on 'Close all', then clicked on 'open log file' and opened multiple log files again. Do you think a video of your steps could help here, or we can get into a Connect session if you suggest a time over email dsarkar@adobe.com. (Comment added from ex-user id:dsarkar)

So this ticket should be open with a status of "Need Info" then?

" Ray, as I had mentioned earlier, I could see the log filename initial showing in the view on OSX (as shown in your video), but on dragging the view pane or on opening another log file, the names appear correctly." Is this for the *other* bug? If so, can we please ignore this here and focus on that? Oddly - now I can't reproduce it. I'm going to try a few more times, but for now you can close it. However, in my testing I still see the issue with log file names. I think you said it is fixed when opening another log file. I agree, it does fix then, but that is *still* a bug. Just because it goes away when a second log file is opened doesn't mean it still isn't bugged.

Okay, will update the other bug with this info related to it. I understand. I also said that it shows full log filename on dragging the view pane, no need to open another file as such. Could you please try that as a workaround? (Comment added from ex-user id:dsarkar)

Maybe I'm confused. it sounds like the workaround is to drag the pane, or add another file. I don't want a workaround. I want the bug fixed. It should be, right? Or at least reopened and put in the queue to be fixed sometime.
