Problem Description:

When using the file search feature under Search -> Search to find and replace text, there is no check to see if data loss will occur when saving the files with the replaced text. If I have special characters from the ISO-8859-1 file encoding and the file is set to use a different encoding (UTF-8 by default), then data loss will occur. I consider this more of a bug because there is no warning than a feature request. Same thing happens anytime you save a file in Blizzard that uses an encoding other than the one specified. It would be nice if there could be something we could set to warn us if data loss will occur when saving due to any file encoding.

Steps to Reproduce:

Have a file with ISO-8859-1 text encoding but set it as UTF-8. Use file search to find and replace text. 

Actual Result:

When saved, the file will lose its original encoding without any warning causing data loss from the original document.

Expected Result:

I expect to at least see some sort of warning. It would be nice to have something we could set under preferences to check for data loss when saving a file in general or through the file search and replace feature that would inform us of potential data loss due to a file encoding change.

Any Workarounds:

Not currently - some sort of feature would be needed here I believe.
