It may not be a tangible feature to the product, but it certainly will benefit developers, the companies who use the product, and Adobe.
Its time for a REAL community site.
- vastly improved blog. Needs to look professional and it should have guest authors from the community with quality articles to share.
- CF Job Postings. All CF jobs in one spot.
- CF Project Listings & Bidding. Post your CF needs and take bids on projects.
- CF Exchange (official developer contributions site). download features other developers have built to solve your problem
- CF Forms. coldfusion centric forums, not Adobe centric forums
- CF Documenation overhaul residing on coldfusion.com
- CF Learning Zone. better & more professional tutorials than other websites with a higher frequency of contributions
- Rapid Development Showcase. A place to see language comparisons side by side to clearly show how much easier CF makes the task at hand.
- Webinars on Various features
- CF Community Groups. A place for developers with common interests to collaborate. For example CF developers that work heavily with PDF generation have a group dedicated to topic, and they can schedule virtual meetups. These are not local exclusive like user groups.
- Who uses CF. Case studies on cutting edge use of CF in both major and small businesses
- CF Store. online store to purchase CF add-ons from vendors. Also sells misc items like CF merchandise.
- CF User Groups. move to coldfusion.com and integrate with user profiles.
- Beyond CF. An area dedicated to extending CF with features beyond the product like java libraries, Jquery, angular, bootstrap etc.
- E-mail News & Alerts
And finally the entire site should have much better SEO so it can be found by CF developers and others who would be interested in CF if they knew how easy it was.
Its time to be proactive and stop relying on Adobe global web resources to get things done and build something that will win CF more marketshare.
