Out of all of my feature requests, this is probably the most important one so far.
CF Builder really needs an auto-saving feature. I was just working about three hours straight on this .cfm file when Windows decided to reboot for an automatic update without asking; Windows asked me about 25 times now to install this update and I have kept postponing and this time, Windows did not bother to even ask if I want to postpone it. You have to love Microsoft products sometimes..
Could CFBuilder auto-save files at a duration that the user can specify (default maybe 5 or 10 minute intervals)? The files can auto-save as temporary files (and not the main file itself) after the user opens up a document and begins making changes to it. Upon saving the main file, CF Builder can delete the temporary files. If Windows (or whatever operating system) closes unexpectedly, the temporary files should still be there when CF Builder opens next time. If temporary files exist upon opening CF Builder, perhaps the user could get a message saying that CF Builder may have closed unexpectedly - would you like to restore your temporary files? If the user clicks no, the temporary files can be deleted, If the user clicks yes, then perhaps both the main documents and the temporary documents can open up side by side and ask the user if he/she would like to save the temporary file as the main file - or something along those lines.
Like I said, out of all of my requests so far, this is probably the one that could really benefit CF Builder.
Right now, after this happened to me, I want to throw my computer out the window - but I will refrain from doing so =)
Thanks!
