Problem Description: Currently there is no way to install a war/ear on ant CF10 install. CF9 had the ability to install as standalone/multi/j2ee.

CF10 doesn't seem to have this option, so there is no way to install CF9 war on CF10. This needs to be a priorty fix, if it is not already in the works. It makes it hard to run CF8 / CF9 / CF 10 on the same machine with different instances.

Currently I use this feature to deploy 10, create a CF9 instance and be able to compare them side by side when migrting code to a new server. As well as being able to work on mutliple sites running across CF8/9/10

This is currently a blocker for me, as until this feature is added. I will never upgrade CF.

Deploying CF 9 on CF 10 does not make sense at all. It is like saying that one should be able to run Windows XP on Windows 7. One can install and run CF 9 and CF 10 simultaneously on his/her machine. Also, if one wants to deploy war, he/she can deploy both CF 9 and CF10 war on any JEE server of his/her choice.

No that was not the problem. Lets look at ColdFusion 9 and Server Management, I am able to deploy CF 8 war on here. In Cf 10 there is no option to deploy a war, so one can't have a CF9 instance running along side CF 10. So this is a bug, and is not user error. If I am able to do it in CF9 then I require the ability to do it in CF 10.

Oh and BTW I can run XP on Windows 7, so what's your point.

What about being able to deploy another application packaged as a ColdFusion 10 EAR or WAR to an existing ColdFusion 10 installation? The CF10 instance manager now lacks the "Deploy from EAR/WAR" option, so if I purchased a third party packaged (CF10) war, how would I deploy it to my CF10 installation? I think that is a valid use case.

Would be nice is Tomcat, Glassfish, and Resin were supported. Only JBoss, webSphere, and WebLogic are currently. Also maybe a blog post on "One can install and run CF 9 and CF 10 simultaneously on his/her machine" from the Adobe CF team would be great. I know consultants and developers writing code supported by different ACF versions would like it. Using locally multiple instance, I originally had acf8, we upgraded to cf9, so I used acf 8300 and created a new instance from an acf9 war.

I would like to know how this is user error? We have been able to do this with ColdFusion 7, 8 and 9 so how the hell is this user error?

This is an important feature used in my development to be able to test code against multiple versions of CF; and to be able to support multiple clients / client projects using different versions of CF.
