Problem Description:

When I last raised this problem it was marked as user error, and I want to make this perfectly clear that this is not user error, and there is a real need for this to work.

In a typical development environment there is a need to have ColdFusion installed with two instances, one is usually the latest version, in this case ColdFusion 10, as well as the previous couple of versions.

In ColdFusion 9 we not only had the ability to do this sort of deployment, but we had been able to use the connectors to then install each instance to the relevant website in IIS or Apache. As it stands now this is not possible.

So the only solution left open to us, is to then install an Application Server, like Tomcat and deploy our wars onto there. The problem now is that we have no way to connect these instances to IIS or Apache.

The web connector that comes with ColdFusion 10, can't connect to a normal build of Tomcat. Nor can we use the connector for ColdFusion 9 or even ColdFusion 8.

One is able to with many headaches get the Apache connector installed, but that doesn't allow us to connect a ColdFusion 10 instance to multiple IIS / Apache web sites.

We seriously need the ability to be able to do this type of installation.

The previous Bug 3136803, was closed and marked as User Error. But I doubt Rupesh actually understood what was being asked, and also ignored the question within that ticket as well.

Will this be possible when ColdFusion 10 is released? Installing ColdFusion along side one another is also not an option in this case, as has been previously suggested.

Adobe provided connnectors cannot work with vanilla tomcat because of AJP protocol modification done by us. So wsconfig cannot be used with WAR deployments of CF. If someone really needs to use IIS/Apache in front of tomcat, they can always download the vanilla connectors from tomcat website and configure them.
