Problem Description:
Here is the scenario, ColdFusion 9 is installed on the server as a multi server installation. I was told that I could install ColdFusion 10 on the same server, by Rupesh. So that's what I have done.
ColdFusion 9 is installed and Configured to run about 6 websites.
ColdFusion 10 is installed and Configured to run 1 website.
When trying to browse the CFIDE from the browser I am getting a server 500 error. This website is not on the standard port 80, but is on port 86
If we are not able to install ColdFusion as a war onto ColdFusion 10, then we have two options available and both seem very buggy at the moment.
Option 1: Install ColdFusion 10 along side ColdFusion 9 results in the above problem.
Option 2: Install Tomcat and install ColdFusion 10 as a war onto top, this is also a problem because there is no way we can then tie this back to an IIS website.
Option 2 is my preferred option, as this is what I and many other developers do. And this is how we have always been able to do it with ColdFusion 9, however since going to Tomcat as the underlying Application Server there is very little options available that will give us the same deployment options as ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion 8.
Anyway as you can see even installed alongside ColdFusion 9 as I was told it could be done, it is a problem as we are having to resort to finding out why things are not working. We should be able to just run the Web Server Config tool and be done with it, then run the CFIDE from the given port for that website. Which we can't do.
