Comments:

The server was migrated from CF9 and they did work OK in that version but weren't migrated to the new version, hence having to create new tasks.

I tried all forms of recurring job and get the same message. The only way to create a scheduled job is to select Once.

When you say Crontime is also available what options are available other than Once or Crontime?

The only way I can get it to work is to create a job with a Frequency of "Daily Every", set it to run every hour and set the start and end time to 1 minute apart. This seems crazy when there's a standard "Daily" option. Can you confirm that scheduling a "Daily" job that was OK in CF9 standard is now not allowed?

I've attached an image of a working schedule. Looking at other forum articles on the web, "Daily" uses the "Crontime" as a backend and that is enterprise only.

I'm also getting this error. I set up some daily scheduled tasks, and returned to find the tasks hadn't run, and the "Advance Scheduling support is not available in this edition of ColdFusion server." message in exception.log Are daily scheduled tasks now unavailable in Standard Edition?

cartera161's solution is a valid workaround for Daily tasks (thank you), but as far as I can tell, there is no workaround for scheduling Weekly or Monthly tasks. I've had to set up calendar reminders to prompt me to run all of my Monthly tasks manually because there is just no way to schedule them in CF10 Standard.

Not working... Not happy... But very happy with a workaround supplied by the CF team to a previous bug. B)

I can't schedule any jobs either. The same error occurs using CF Administrator and cfschedule tag. Windows Server 2008 R2 CF 10 Standard 64-bit.

I am unable to schedule any tasks at this time. I had about 50 tasks scheduled in CF9 that will have to continue to be ran from our old server so that we won't miss any tasks. Please fix this bug ASAP Adobe. We would like to decommission our old server and it would be nice if everything worked in one place. Now I have two environments to administer...

I have several jobs that run on weekly or monthly intervals and to have to remember those (especially if people are sick/on holiday) will be a major inconvinience.

This bug is so embarassing, Adobe. How could you ship a product with such major bugs like this? You should be working around the clock to fix this and release a hotfix. It's a lot of work migrating to CF10. Then when we run into a problem like this that is your fault and no workaround or fix available, it is very frustrating. You have wasted us days of time after we tried to deploy CF10 and then ran into this issue. It's not that we were doing a strange upgrade. Only CF9 Standard to CF10 Standard. We need a fix for this ASAP. Stuff like this makes us one step closer to dumping CF.

WE CANNOT PROPERLY MIGRATE FROM CF9 STANDARD TO CF10 STANDARD. WE HAD 50+ SCHEDULED TASKS THAT RECUR MONTHLY. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP.

Can someone tell me how I can use the work-around using the <CFSCHEDULE> tag? How do you go about createing a frequency of Daily - Every? I currently am setting interval to 'daily' and don't see an option for daily every. I also tried using the isDaily attribute but I get an Attribute validation error for the schedule tag. error when I do that. To recap the workaround is-- The only way I can get it to work is to create a job with a Frequency of "Daily Every", set it to run every hour and set the start and end time to 1 minute apart. This seems crazy when there's a standard "Daily" option. Can you confirm that scheduling a "Daily" job that was OK in CF9 standard is now not allowed? Thanks.

Love to hear when this is going to be fixed. We just deployed CF10 in one of our dev environments and this bug is a showstopper. I'm glad we held off buying licenses for all of the production boxes.

I have just installed CF 10 Update 1. The CF-3299932 issue is fixed, but not this one. I'm still receiving the "Advance Scheduling support is not available in this edition of ColdFusion server" when I tried to create or edit a scheduled task with a recurring daily frequency.

@Viny, thanks for your interest. I installed the update yesterday and rebooted CF two times. In the administrator update appears as "installed" but I still received the "not available in this edition" error when I tried to create or modify a task and set it to recurring daily. Just retried now, after reading your message.... and now it works fine.... If still interested I can provided you with our setup, but it seems it just took a bit of time. BTW, the "Server update" option is a nice improvement.

Addenda: our tech service just had tell me that there was a complete reboot of the machine in the early morning, I suspect that was neccesary to get the update working in this issue, an not just the CF reboot. We had a virtual machine over a CentOS 64 bit.

Dear Adobe, Thanks so much for fixing (most) of this problem. My users can NOW create daily scheduled tasks. The only problem that remains is that they cannot edit the tasks that have been migrated from CF9 because of the .html file extension we use to save the output. instead we receive an error message "Invalid extension of the file name. Valid extensions are :txt, log". This requirement is not mentioned in the current documentation and the CFSCHEDULE tag in CF10 allows us to add our tasks with a .html extension as well. This problem is not as urgent but is definately going to need to be fixed. Please let me know if you want me to open up another bug ticket. Again, THANK YOU for fixing this bug.

I am sorry, but what do you mean by "You can add the html extension in neo-cron.xml" and how will that fix setting up "Recurring" daily and weekly scheduled tasks? I do not see the correlation with anything on that help doc. And I installed the only CF10 update on the Adobe support site but that did not fix the issue. So what is the current status on fixing this bug?

I was surprised that my CF 9 scheduled tasks were not migrated and even more surprised I could not even recreate them manually. This should be fixed soon yes? BTW, "cartera" workaround does not solve the weekly task. I tried setting it up with crontime, but that too failed. This says it was fixed in build 2525... but I have version ColdFusion 10,283111 and it still is an issue on Windows Server 2008

@Gregory, Hima's comment regarding the html extenstion was in response to Esontag's comment. This bug was fixed in ColdFusion 10 update 1 and it can be applied from the ColdFusion administrator. ColdFusion 10 updates are not available on the support page and can be downloaded and installed from the administrator. I guess the update that you downloaded would be the 'mandatory update' which is only replacing the Adobe certificate. The technote would describe what that update is.

This bug is preventing us from updating from 9 to 10 Standard. On Win 2003 we installed CF10 but did NOT run migration wizard yet. We manually installed update 1, then update 9 from the jar files. Then ran migration wizard. Scheduled tasks not imported. Log file says "Advance scheduling support is not available in this edition of ColdFusion.
