Problem Description: When I place CKEditor (cftextarea=richtext) within a cflayoutarea, it does not show up correctly in IE 9. I can click on the page where I assume the text Editor should be and type. At this point the background of the Menu Bar and some other elements will show up, but it is not functional.

Steps to Reproduce: Simply build a page with cflayout/cflayoutarea and place a cftextarea tag using richtext. Open the page in IE 9 and you will see what I am in the attached image file.

Actual Result: Menu Bar is missing and frame is not defined.

Expected Result: Work like it does in FireFox and Safari

Any Workarounds: Use jQuery Ajax and build your own tab defined areas.

I have corresponded with Adobe engineers who are aware of the bugs in many CF Ajax tags.

Can you please try by adding DOCTYPE ,html,head and body tags and reconfirm if your facing the same bug? Also please specify the DOCTYPE type that you are giving.? I got the cftextarea working inside a cflayoutarea after adding DOCTYPE etc. If you still get an error please post the sample code. (Comment added from ex-user id:vnigam)

Does not make a difference and I have written Adobe many times only to get a complete run around from it is not their fault as the code is supplied from a third party vendor to it is not fixible. In both instances I feel I have been lied to and flim flammed. I didn't buy third part code, I paid a good bit of money for CF9 and I was told that their 'tier 3' team was aware and working on a fix. Next thing I know they are coming out with CF10 and I still don't know if they got it fixed and their suggestion is a buy the upgrade to see if it solves the problem. Why should I pay for an upgrade to something they broke. Adobe owes me money for CF9, as I had to spend well over 100 hours fixing my CMS system so it would work, removing all instances of cflayout and CKEditor, which I had specifically upgraded to CF8 for it's use. It worked great in CF8 and was broken in CF9. This is Adobe's fault and shuold be rectified by them as a fix to all the clients that purchased CF9.

I have tried the DOCTYPE at the header as well as many other suggestions. Nothing works when adding cftextarea CKEditor version within the cflayout/cflayoutarea code. Adobe continues to tell me it is because they are resources from 2 different vendors and not their own code. I don't accept the excuse and think that Adobe should test codes from "secondary vedors" to make sure it works. Does anyone know if it works with CF10 and Windows Web Server?

@piyush Can you check if this issue exists in IE8 or IE10. And also attach the console errors in case of you see any
