Problem Description:The coldfusion.exe stops when logging out of Windows when physically at the console or using and RDP session to grab session 0 (using /admin) on Windows 2003 x32 and CF10 32-bit. The does not happen on Server 2008 R2 with 64-bit CF10 or if you use a non-console RDP session.

Steps to Reproduce: Log in o to a Windows 2003 x32 server running CF10 via the console session. Log back out of Windows. Try and pull up CFAdmin adn you will receive a temporary service error. Log back in to Windows to see coldfusionsvc.exe is running but coldfusion.exe is not. In the CF "server" log file it shows a line saying "coldfusion stopped" that corresponds with the log off time. It appears the process is being gracefully stoppped during log out.

Actual Result:

Expected Result: process stays running when logging out of console session

Any Workarounds: Don't use the console session

Server 2003 x32 4GB RAM IIS6. I was able to reproduce this issue on two different Server 2003 x32 servers and both happened to be virtualized on Citrix XenServer 6.02, but I wouldn't expect that to be related.

Comments:

To test further I created a new VM under Citrix XenServer that was Server 2008 R2 with CF10 64-bit, and I received the same results as my Server 2008 R2 physical box, it worked as it should. Then I took a recently decommisioned production web server that had Server 2003 x32 with CF9 on it and upgraded it to CF 10 and I was able to reproduce the issue.....coldfision.exe would stop when logging out of a console session. So that seems to rule out the hypervisor from having any impact on this problem.

We need more information to reproduce this issue 1.Please provide us a screenshot of "ColdFusion Application Server" service properties window. You can get the properties window by double clicking on the serv ice. Please take screen shot of both General and Log On tabs. 2.Please share the jvm.onfig of your CF installation in <CF_HOME>/cfusion/bin 3.Is the account you use to login to the system a memeber of Administrator group? I have reproduced the error from several diferent servers. I included attachments that modified jvm.config and a where CF runs under a domain service account, which is an admin on the box. Another server had a fresh install of CF10 with just the default settings and I go the same result with coldfusion.exe stopping (although it did have CF9 which was upgraded to CF10 then uninstalled from this server prior to this test)

Just sw bug ID CF-3323991 as well which is the same issue but on Windows XP, which makes sense since XP and 2003 are the same kernel.
