Problem Description:
We receive errors 2 to 3 times a day like this:
"[Informix JDBC Driver][Informix]Cannot execute a SELECT statement that is PREPAREd- must use cursor."
When the initial error occurs, the server in question will then generate 10 - 40 errors over the course of a 1 to 2 minutes and then the error run stops. A trace on the error in Informix is below. It is always the same query that fails but the query does not always fail.
We have multiple servers connecting to a single informix database but this error only happens on one server at a time.
We have noticed that when the CF datasource in question has "0" Max Pooled Statements in it's config, the server will not recover from the error and the datasource either needs to have it's connection reset or the CF service needs a restart.
However, if we have >0 Max Pooled Statements in the config, the server will "fix" itself (reset connection?) within 1 to 3 minutes.
Steps to Reproduce:
We have not be able to trigger this error but we see it happen daily. See attached trace and comments from IBM in AutoEurope-IBM-bug.txt
Any Workarounds:
None yet.
IBM is pointing fingers at DataDirect drivers and we've found that error happens with both native CF Informix driver and with the regular, non OEM DataDirect JDBC driver installed in CF.
DataDirect will not directly support us because we're using the OEM driver and didn't purchase their standard driver from them. They have suggested we open a CF bug so that we can work with Adobe and DataDirect's OEM support team.
