Letting your application run specific code ( most likely the programmatic generation of datasources through the admin API ) when a missing datasource error files from any cfquery in your application.

Yeah, why not? It's a bit edge-case-y, but it's a reasonable idea. I wonder if there's scope here to have a onMissing[thing] approach which allows a callback to be defined to determine the missingness of themissing thing? This would make it more generic, perhaps? -- Adam

@David: What information do you expect in the callback and how exactly this function suppose to work? Can you provide the elaborated use case.

We have not heard anything back about the use cases and It looks like an edge case. Hence, closing this bug. However, if we get sufficient requests for this enhancement, then we can re-consider this enhancement.
