After cleaning all the Coldfusion Logs and restarting the server everything seems to be working fine.

I also have this exact issue. Frustrating as heck. I was able to save the settings in ColdFusion administrator by visiting the admin site on the server itself (rather than remotely), using localhost or the local IP.

This bug makes it impossible to update any datasources in ColdFusion administrator unless you log onto the server itself. It's great that you can get to CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm from outside the local network, but it doesn't help if you can't save the settings you need to.

I'm having the same problem. It started after I turned off Memory Variables -> Use J2EE session variables. Now, the Admin will not accept any changes I try to make. I get the same error message.

I turned off "Use J2EE session variables" on a remote server. I logged out, logged back in, tried to turn them back on, which failed. Now any change I try to make fails with the same error message.

I could repro it on CF10 update 10 . Steps : Turn ON / Enable Memory Variables -> Use J2EE session variables Change the Cookie Timeout , which is under same page Exception : "There was an error accessing this page. Check logs for more details." (Comment added from ex-user id:yrr)

I have exactly the same problem. Running version 10,0,11,285437 update level /chf10000011.jar on Win2008 R2 with IIS 7.5. Can only make updates from localhost (which is not optimal).

This is happening for me too, I have installed the latest version of CF from the adobe site and tried it with and without the updates. When installing I've tried both the option of securing the server to only allow access to the administrator from certain IP's or to allow access to all. I cannot save any config changes and I cannot view certain functions like paginating through log files. Trying different things I've not installed CF 7 times, grrr.

I cannot update any settings in CF unless I RDP to the server and make the changes on localhost. It's a pain to say the least and I can only RDP when on the local network so often cannot administer CF remotely.

This problem is caused by cookies. Cookies issued by CF9 are picked up by CF10 but they contain mismatching information (GUID etc) which causes CF10 to be confused. Each time I've seen it clearing cookies for that domain solves the problem. This means you will only see the problem on a server which has had an old version of CF previously installed that you have connected to the administrator from.

There is indeed a workaround for this bug. As OddJob below says, it's a cookie problem. There are in fact several workarounds for this. I discuss the problem and those workarounds in a blog entry I just created: 'CF911: Solving problem in #ColdFusion Admin getting "error accessing this page" on certain actions' http://www.carehart.org/blog/client/index.cfm/2014/4/10/CF_Admin_error_about_error_accessing_this_page Hope that may help some readers here.
